DS Tech Kansai Co. Ltd., a subsidiary of Dainippon Screen Mfg. Co., Ltd. and the predecessor to FEBACS Co., Ltd., was established on April 1, 1997 for the purpose of offering maintenance service for the semiconductor and FPD (Flat Panel Displays) manufacturing equipment sold by Screen. Providing service for customers in the Western Japan region, DS Tech Kansai was headquartered in Kyoto with service stations in the Chugoku, Kumamoto and Tottori areas.
However, the necessity soon emerged for services and solutions that could more flexibly handle our customers' increasingly diverse requirements that followed transitions in the business environment for FPD manufacturing equipment. The FPD Service Departments at Screen, DS Tech Kansai and DS Tech Tokyo were thus all integrated, reorganized as a maintenance service company specializing in FPD manufacturing equipment, and reborn on August 1, 2003 as FEBACS Co., Ltd.
The name FEBACS is an acronym derived from
FPD Equipment Before Service & After Service Customer Support
Our service stations were then reorganized as well into five bases (Tokyo Service Center, the Nagoya Service Station, Matsuzaka Service Station, Tottori Service Station, and Kyushu Service Station), all specializing in FPD manufacturing equipment.
Addendum
In 2005, we closed our Nagoya Service Station and established the Mobara Service Station.
